Those who would like to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces with intermediate qualification can find National Defence Academy (NDA) at Doon defence academy as the appropriate platform to achieve their dream. NDA is a blend of quality education, training and job. The benefit of joining NDA is to have a degree along with training and starting a career with Rs 45,000 salary.
Many of the students on completing their intermediate usually think about EAMCET, IIT and AIEEE. But those who think about other chances than the above can find NDA exam as a great opportunity. By joining in NDA, one can start their career in Army, Navy or Air Force with an officer designation. Not only that, by completing three years training in NDA, one can get their bachelor’s degree certificate.
The Indian government has formed National Defence Academy six decades back in Pune, Maharashtra to train the soldiers for armed forces of the air force, navy and army that protects the security of the country. From then onwards NDA has been giving well-trained soldiers to the Indian army forces. NDA is considered to be the best path to join in security forces of the country. This is the reason why this exam is being conducted by the UPSC. In India, this is the only examination which is a combination of education, training and job.
Selection of NDA is done in three phases. Stage 1 is the written test. This contains mathematics questions for 300 marks and general ability to test for 600 marks. Stage 2 is Interview (Intelligence and Personality Test) for 900 marks and Stage 3 is the medical examination.
The NDA written test is conducted in the English medium in objective type. There is negative marking for wrong answers. Those qualified in the written exam are eligible for the interview. Those who are qualified in the interview are sent for the medical examination. Candidates who qualify the fitness test are then selected to join the course.
The eligibility criteria for NDA at Doon Defence Academy Army wing includes pass out with any intermediate group. For air force, navy and naval academy. Pass out of intermediate with maths and physics. Age limit is in between 16 to 19 years. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. They should meet the physical parameters set by the board.
